This October, the Sigma Mu chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Colorado Mesa University is proud to host the First Annual Military Heroes Golf Tournament at the Redlands Mesa Golf Course on October 26th. The tournament will feature a 4-person scramble with a shotgun start. Registration includes lunch and two drinks. Check-in begins at 9 AM, with the shotgun start at 10 AM.Since 2007, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity has raised over $2 million to support our veterans across the United States. This year, we are raising funds for the Homes For Our Troops non-profit organization. Homes For Our Troops is dedicated to improving the lives of veterans who have been severely injured in combat by providing them with handicap-accessible homes. One such veteran is Michael Boucher, who joined the Marines in 2008. On his second deployment, he was severely wounded by an IED, resulting in the loss of his legs above the knee and severe injuries to his left hand. In 2013, Homes For Our Troops adapted Michael’s home to help him regain his independence. We aim to extend this support nationwide and take care of those who have made sacrifices to protect us.
